Ride Of The Day: Zac Purton on It’s Somewhat, took control of the race by going to the lead and going at a tempo where no one took him on.

Run Of The Day: One word….. Chautauqua

Forget It Ran: Menari, just had a prep where nothing went right and pulled up shin sore. Look for him as a 3year old.

Royal Randwick – Saturday April 1

Race 1 – PROPERTY $5, won from CONDOR HEROES, SHEIKHA.

Property was the best supported runner opening at $7.50 before starting $4.80. Dissolution had good support being $18 into $10 with good specking also for From Within.

Race 2 – ACATOUR $10, won from THEANSWERMYFRIEND, VELADERO.

The one punters wanted was Theanswermyfriend who was $4.40 into a clear $2.40 fav, Screamarr was $34 into $17 before being a late scratching. All other runners drifted with Acatour being $7 out to $10.

Race 3 – BIG DUKE $2.45, won from ALOFT, ROCK ON.

Big Duke was always solid in the market around the $2.45, Aloft had some support being $4.60 into $4.20 but best supported to bear the favourites was Alegria who was $9 into $5.

Race 4 – FREE STANDING $41, won from AFTER ALL THAT, NOT FOR EXPORT.

Free Standing had support opening at $51 before touching $26 and back out to $41. Favourite Perfect Dare was always solid around the $3.60 mark but the 2 best supported runners were Galaxy Warrior being $16 into $7.50 and Pelerin being $15 into $9.50.

Race 5 – DIDDUMS $21, won from PROMPT RESPONSE, SMART AMELIA.

Diddums opened at $31 getting out to $34 before very good late support to start at $21. Both placegetters were specked in the market with Prompt Reponse $9 into $7 and Smart Amelia $41 into $26. Raiment was easily the best supported runner before finishing unplaced opening at $4.20 before starting at $2.50.

Race 6 – INVADER $8, won from SUMMER PASSAGE, TRAPEZE ARTIST.

Invader was the best backed supported runner in the race opening at $15 before starting at $8. The unplaced favourites both also received good support with Frolic $4.80 into $3.80 and Tulip being $6 into $4.60.

Race 7 – JON SNOW $7.50, won from HARPERS CHOICE, HARDHAM.

Gingernuts was easily the best supported runner opening at $3.50 before starting $2.65. The winner was $6 out to $7.50 with placegetters unwanted starting at $41 and $51 respectively after being a lot shorter in the market.

Race 8 – CHAUTAUQUA $6.50, won from ENGLISH, FELL SWOOP.

All the money was for Russian Revolution who was $7 into a very clear $3.20 favourite. Chautauqua opened at $4.60 before starting at $6.50. Most other runners drifted from the opening prices.

Race 9 – IT’S SOMEWHAT $34, won from HAPPY CLAPPER, SENSE OF OCCASION.

It’s Somewhat opened at $26 then got out to $51 before late support saw him home at $34. Best supported runners were Happy Clapper who was $10 into $7 and Redkirk Warrior who was $12 into $6.

Race 10 – WALKING MOMENT $26, won from PERFECT RHYME, FALLACY.

The winner had some support opening at $31 before starting at $26. Baysa started clear favourite at $4.60 after opening at $8. Others that had specking were Almalita, Face Like Thunder, Dancing Hare and Blanco Cara.

The Money Was Right: Invader in the Sires opened $15 before saluting at $8.

Left It In The Bag: Theanswermyfriend, Russian Revolution and Redkirk Warrior were costly for supporters.

Friendless: Chautauqua got the money despite a drift of $4.60 to $6.50.
