Tourneur breaks ribs in trackwork fall

Group One-winning jockey Dom Tourneur has suffered broken ribs in a trackwork fall and is set for a stint on the sidelines.

The Adelaide rider fell from his mount in a gallop on Tuesday morning at Morphettville, suffering four broken ribs.

“Thanks everyone for the well wishes! I have 4 broken ribs & a few other injured areas but could have been a lot worse #RnR #IllBeBack,” Tourneur said on Twitter.

Tourneur sits third in the statewide South Australian premiership this season with 54 wins.
