Sydney trainer Joe Pride has never been to Adelaide before but is hoping to leave an impression on his first visit.

Saturday’s Robert Sangster Stakes will also be a new experience for sprinting mare I Am Zelady who steps up to Group One company for the first time in the $1 million race over 1200 metres for fillies and mares.

I Am Zelady goes to Morphettville after a second to the talented Nieta in a benchmark race over 1000m at Randwick.

Although she has never raced at the highest level, I Am Zelady has earned her connections almost a million dollars.

Much of that came from her win in the 2016 Magic Millions fillies and mares race and her second this year when Private Secretary turned the tables when they met for the second time at the Gold Coast.

“This will be a big week for me. I’m taking My Psychiatrist to Wagga for the Cup and then I ‘m going to Adelaide for the first time,” Pride said.

“I have had runners in every other mainland state.

“It’s a million dollar race so it’s hard not to go. She leaves today (Tuesday) because unfortunately she has to go by road because there are no flights.

“Noel Callow rides and I’m looking forward to it.”

I Am Zelady is a $31 chance with another Sydney mare English the $4.60 favourite ahead of Sheidel at $5.

At Wagga Wagga, My Psychiatrist will run on a firmer track than the two heavy surfaces she has encountered in her two runs from a spell.

The track was rated a soft (5) on Tuesday with fine weather forecast for the rest of the week.
