RICHIES BEST BETS

CANTERBURY

WEDNESDAY 10 MAY

RAIL: +6m                             TRACK: Good

RACE 4          Benchmark 77    1900M

 NO.4               NOTHING BOX

Producing the best bet of the day in a race where Chris Waller has four of the eight runners is fraught with danger but I am confident the combination of Waller and Bowman will produce the goods. NOTHING BOX is clearly on top for me as he could easily lead and be dominant or if the stablemate and second pick Lead Choreographer wants to lead or if the David Payne trained Be Like Dad declares he wants the top Nothing Box will drop in and get a cosy trip. One thing for sure it won’t be run like last start when Wu Gok and Multitude attacked each other making it a tough 1900m and even harder for Nothing Box as he was coming off a three week break. Today is his day and the current $3 on offer is pretty fair.

Selections:       4 Nothing Box9 Lead Choreographer8 Tumultuous

RACE 6          Benchmark 67    1550M

NO.9               MULL OVER

Very keen to bet here as I am confident that the winner is in my top two selections but even more so that my top pick MULL OVER will win and as long as the weather is ok head to Brisbane for some riches. Today will be the first time Mull Over will have raced or trialled on a good surface which I found incredible. She caught my eye when she destroyed her rivals at Newcastle on March 17 before struggling albeit after a tough run in the group 3 Adrian Knox Stakes and then although finishing fifth of six behind Oklahoma Girl was only beaten two lengths and this race is a grade below. Tim Clark who will do the steering is in dashing form and with even luck I think she will get the chocolates. Shield Wall only won narrowly last start but she is progressing in the right direction and is rock hard fit and again the combination of Waller/Bowman must be respected.
