RICHIES BEST BETS

HAWKESBURY

TUESSDAY 9 MAY

RAIL: True                             TRACK: Good

RACE 1          Benchmark 65    1100M

 NO.5               MEMES

MEMES resumed at Kembla a fortnight ago and finally recorded her first career win at start number nine and let me tell you it was a dominant victory. She led before clearing out in the run home to win by 4.3 lengths with the same margin back to third. From barrier one here and the inform Rachel King doing the steering she should bounce and find the top and fingers crossed does the same as last start. Jason Coyle’s stable is low flying and from an interview last week on EON Sports Radio he reported she looks a promising filly ready to go through the grades on her way to city racing. Her dangers are the top two who clashed last start at Wyong behind Johnny Roy Boo. Worldly Impact loves this track with two wins and a second from three starts while Cockles has also recorded a victory here.

Selections:       5 Memes                      1 Worldly Impact                     2 Cockles

RACE 2          Maiden Plate       1000m

 NO.3               SKILLED MAGIC

In a race where the raced brigade are nothing to write home about I am going for a bit of value with the locally trained debutante SKILLED MAGIC from the stables of Tommy Wong. There is a little smell about this 3yo gelding that hasn’t been seen publicly since February 14 in a trial where he looked only moderate. His trial a fortnight before that was very smart over the short course 760m where he jumped and ran and kept running thro0ugh the line. From barrier one and natural speed I think he will lead and hoping he will keep running and the others won’t want to chase. He is sure to give them something to chase.

Selections:       3 Skilled Magic            6 Japhite                      8 Secret Pedrille

RACE 7          Benchmark 60    2000M

 NO.6               TOO CHIC

This isn’t a classic race to finish the day but I am confident us punters can have a good crack in the last while saving our cash by backing my top selection each way. TOO CHIC is a horse for courses animal having started 14 times on her home track recording three wins and six minor placings. She will get a soft run from barrier one and following two runs back from a five month spell she should be ready fire at the 2000m of today’s trip. The good surface is another added bonus as both runs this time in have been of rain affected going. Ardanza looks the obvious danger as she has fewer convictions than the others having only raced twice. She won on debut before not being beaten far at Canterbury over 1550m. The 2000m is a slight query being by Dane Shadow out of an Iglesia but she did look a little dour at her second start.

Selections:       6 Too Chic                   3 Ardanza                    1 Eerised
