RACE 2 Maiden 2yo 1600M
NO.2 BARBARY
In what can be best described as an average 2yo maiden plate 1600m the top two look the only possible winning chances with a couple of them in danger of holding up the start of race three.
Number 2 Barbary has raced three times with a solid third at Wyong two runs back over the mile before going a bit keen last start when dropping back to 1400m but found the line ok. In this grade I think jockey Tim Clark will have him handy to the speed and he should be hard to hold out. His only danger Banner Season steps up to the mile from 1350 where he was fair so he is expected to improve. The others- pass.
RACE 8 Benchmark 70 1600M
NO.3 LADY SANSA
Looks a perfect two horse race that will divide punters as there are good arguments for both. Number 8 Collateral is the clear favourite and turns up here following a luckless effort last start Tuesday week when having no luck from the 600m until way to late when ducking through to finish a close up third. The second horse in that race Vega won yesterday at Canterbury giving merit to the form. The horse I am keen on is the Craig Carmody trained mare number 3 Lady Sansa who was very impressive winning a week ago at Hawkesbury. She drew barrier one last week today she draws well again in gate two and I imagine Josh Parr will be looking for the same run just in behind the speed. As a punter a love a mare in form as they usually hold that form and a repeat effort of seven days ago where she won by almost five lengths will have her hard to beat here. Her form this preparation has been consistent with improvement each time.
