I am keen on Thai Boxing in race two but the value has been taken with the scratching of the favourite Star Of Monsoon. Hugh Bowman is in the saddle for Chris Waller on this son of Northern Meteor. Thai Boxing has raced five times for one placing and that came at his latest start at Gosford over the mile.

With his stablemate and main threat Queen Of Heights likely to roll forward hopefully Thai Boxing drawn a gate inside will get pushed across into a nice trailing position and prove too strong in the run home.

Mate Story caused an upset winning on debut at Kembla back in April over the mile at $51 but then backed that run up with a strong effort at Warwick Farm when fourth. The horse to beat and the likely leader is the Gai Waterhouse charge Street Pursuit who bolted in a fortnight ago at Kembla. Mate Story should roll forward and sit handy and hopefully show his toughness in the latter stages. He is by Wanted and I am tipping he is the new Mossman in that Wanted’s progeny love wet ground. He is terrific value around the $7 mark.
