Best bet – Race 2 #2 Goresbridge at $2.90 bet now
Value bet – Race 5 #7 Little Miss Brown
Race 1 – 12:50PM Maiden 1100m
Competitive race to start the day here at Canterbury on a heavy track. The rail is out 3 meters and I think it is going to be very hard to make up ground from the back. Keep an eye on the early races to see if there is a bias forming.
Te Amo (9) is a lightly raced filly who showed nice ability in her first-prep, but I think this time in she will be even better. She has drawn perfectly and she should be ready to go after two nice trials. Piracy (5) has always promised a lot but he hasn’t delivered just yet. I like that he has had a good break and both his trials were good. Noviero (4) has shown nice ability in his trials and the good barrier ensures a nice run throughout. Star Galaxy (8) has won both her trials and if she can get luck from the drawn than she should be attacking the line late.
Small bet on the 9 to win at $4.40 bet now
Race 2 – 1:25PM Maiden 1100m
Goresbridge (2) has won all three trials in impressive style. This gelding will get a gun run from the draw and the 2kg claim is an added bonus. Gaytime Girl (6) has been freshened up since her last start effort at Warwick Farm, but has had a recent trial to keep her ticking over. she has the ability to win this race, but she might she might be running on when it’s all over. Our Girl Hollie (8) stuck on well first-up and she must be included now that she is fitter. Miss Que (7) has done enough in both trials and I think she has a nice little engine under the hood.
Back the 2 to win at $2.90 bet now
Race 3 – 2:05PM Benchmark 67 Handicap 1900m
Estikhraaj (2) has been good in all four runs this prep and he looks very well placed in this BM 67. Celestial Choice (6) has kept improving in each run this prep and I expect her to do the same again in this. Drawn well and she will love the no weight on her back. Shelley’s Girl (4) is rock hard fit now, drawn well and her record on a wet track is very good. Life O’brien (3) is a fit horse who is racing consistently.
Back the 2 to win at $2.70 bet now
Race 4 – 2:40PM Benchmark 67 Handicap 1550m
Walk The Streets (4) is a talented filly who is racing very well this prep. She looks very well placed, drawn well and I expect this filly to be fitter now. Fournette (6) won like a good horse last start, but the barrier is a massive concern. If she can get some luck than she will be storming home late. Our Belisa (5) ran a much improved race last start and the form around that race is very good. Seventhchic (3) is ready to show her best now that she has had two runs back. Drawn well.
Back the 4 to win at $3.10 bet now
Race 5 – 3:15PM Benchmark 72 Handicap 1100m
Peaceful Sea (9) resumes for her new stable and I have really liked both of her trials this time in. She is a nice horse in the making and this filly will appreciate no weight on her back. Sangiovese (1) hit the line well last start but she couldn’t run down the tough Lion Couchant. She peaks now and the 2kg claim is a big help. Little Miss Brown (7) will be better suited over further, but her recent trial was very nice and I wouldn’t be surprised if she ran a huge race fresh. Roeinda (5) should be fitter now and she will appreciate the drop in class.
Back the 9 to win at $2.40 bet now
Race 6 – 3:50PM Benchmark 72 Handicap 1550
Reneged (4) did enough first-up and then last start he should have finished closer but he didn’t have much luck. This gelding is good enough to win this race and the stable should have him ready to win now. Kent (2) got back and ran on well to win second-up last start. He has nice upside and the rise in trip is ideal. Quick Defence (5) did enough first-up to suggest that he can run a race in this and El Venetian (6) is racing well and he comes in very well at the weights after the claim.
Back the 4 to win at $5.50 bet now
Race 7 – 4:25PM Benchmark 67 Handicap 1250m
Artistic Beauty (10) won well first-up and then ran another good race second up at Dubbo. She is ready to peak now and the wet track should be no concern. Better Be Good (4) hit the line very well to win first-up at Gosford. Better Be Good has the ability to win this race, but he just needs some luck from the wide draw. He will be launching late. Wirnpa (9) got the job done first-up and from the good draw he must be respected again. No Interest (3) drops in grade after winning well at Warwick Farm last start. She has the form to win this race, but I am a bit worried about her on the heavy.
Back the 10 at $5.50 bet now and 4 each way at $11 bet now
