Race 1 – 1:05PM MAIDEN HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

Tricky maiden race to start the day here on a good track. No. 4 Eight Over resumes and has had on very nice trial this time in. He is a well bred gelding who showed nice ability last prep and I like that Bowman has chosen to ride him. No. 1 Tivoli Street is a talented horse, but he is struggling to break his maiden tag. He is rock hard fit now and he should have no excuses today. No. 5 Sacred Edge should be ready to peak now, drawn well and this gelding definitely has the talent to win this maiden.

Back the 4 to win

Race 2 – 1:40PM HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

No. 1 Goldfinch is a lightly raced filly who has come back a serious filly this time in. Her first-up win at Kembla was good, but I though her recent win at Gosford was super. She peaks now and I like that she gets a 2kg claim off her back. No. 7 Dream Charge won like a very nice horse at Newcastle on debut. This is tougher, but she is a nice horse in the making and the rise in trip is ideal. No. 4 Addictive Nature has shown good ability at the trials, but I think he is well under the odds and that is why I am happy to bet around him.

Back the 1 to win

Race 3 – 2:15PM BENCHMARK 67 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

No. 10 Dahooil resumed at this track three weeks ago and I though her effort was good. The stable will have her fitter now, the rise in trip is perfect and barrier two ensures a lovely run throughout. No. 1 Long Time Ago returned with a nice win at Canterbury two weeks ago. She is a serious horse, who should appreciate the rise in trip, but I am a bit worried that the big weight might take the zip out of her legs. No. 7 Liffy has come back well this time in and she is another filly who will love the extra distance.

Back the 10 to win

Race 4 – 2:50PM BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

No. 8 Fournette failed in town on a Saturday last start, but I am happy to forgive that effort because her prior form was good and the drop in trip should be ideal. Drawn well. No. 11 La Chica Bella is a locally trained filly who has been very good in all three runs this time in. She is a fit horse and this stable must be respected when their animals are met with heavy support. No. 4 Little Miss Brown won well at Wyong last start. She is promising mare who has drawn well and her reword over this distance is good.

Back the 8 each way

Race 5 – 3:25PM BENCHMARK 67 HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

No. 3 I Can Rock was pretty plain at this track last start, but I am happy to give him another chance now that he is fitter. I like that the senior rider goes back on board and the drop in class is a big tick. No. 2 Akasaki is a consistent galloper who is capable of running another big race today and No. 5 Golden Shoes did enough first-up to suggest that he can run a big arc in this BM 67.

Small bet on the 3 to win

Race 6 – 4:05PM BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (2200 METRES)

No. 12 Celestial Choice is racing well this time in, drawn well and this mare will love having now right on her back after the claim. No. 5 Go Benny tried hard at this track last start when finishing second behind Sayed. He is a tough horse who should appreciate the drier track. No. 4 Brogue is rock hard fit now and if he can relax throughout then he will be very hard to get past. Good chance at nice odds.

Small bet on the 12 each way

Race 7 – 4:40PM BENCHMARK 67 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

No. 9 Invicta comes to town after two very dominant wins in much easier grade, but I am happy to have something on him because he is getting better and better with every start and the rise in trip is perfect. He will get back and rattle home late. No. 6 Bon Equus needs luck from the draw, but he should be ready to peak now and his last start effort suggests that he is ready to fire. No. 11 Vanell is a lightly raced horse who is starting to put it all together. His last start win was very good and I like that Waller has kept him at the mile.

Back the 9 to win
