Premier Brisbane jockey Jeff Lloyd has copped his second careless riding suspension in two days while apprentice Stephanie Lacy has been outed for four weeks on a handling charge on a busy day for stewards at the Sunshine Coast.

Lacy, who rode her first metropolitan winner at Doomben on Saturday, was aboard Kulaba in the seventh race on Sunday with stewards citing two occasions when she could have improved her position on the eventual fourth placegetter.

Stewards said Lacy had failed to pressure her mount from the 400m until the 300m and then from the 200m again failed to pressure Kulaba or show enough vigour to ensure he gained the best possible place.

Lacy’s suspension begins next Sunday and she has a week to decide whether to seek an internal review.

Lloyd, who was suspended at Doomben on Saturday, was outed for his winning ride on Gracida with his nine-day ban to begin when he finishes the other suspension on August 6.

Senior jockey Glen Colless was fined $400 for an altercation with apprentice Matt McGillivray at the Sunshine Coast meeting.

Stewards found Colless started a verbal altercation with McGillivray which resulted in Colless pushing the apprentice.
