Race 1

 

Not a race I’m keen to play into at all.  1 BELIEVE IT OR NOT resumes here, and did chase some reasonable horses’ last preparation. 6 FREEZE N TEASE opened favorite of the back of a couple of placing recently. Might find it difficult to lead these and likely will need to work from the gate, can place. Tony Gollan saddles up 3 runners here, 4 BRAINS & 8 EXCRUCIATE have raced, and recently placed in a trial. 7 SHESEES EVERYTHING who is first up here of a recent trial wins. The market should be the best guide there. It’s just an impossible race to line up.

Race 2

 

1 SKY TEAM has found a very weak maiden here and should break through. The stable has a good enough opinion of this horse, should be winning this.  8 MISS ARABELLA will likely want a touch further, but on ability, she can run second.  They look the 2 horses that you’d want to be on going forward.

Race 3

 

Good speed engaged here, with 4 JOMARS ELEMENT leading the fence early and 1 VIENNA ROYALE screaming across with the blinkers back on today.  The 2 horses that get the nice runs just behind the speed are 2 PATRONZING & 3 CAMBOOYA ROCK.  I’m leaning toward 2 PATRONIZING, as I think he might be a touch stronger at 1200m than 3 CAMBOOYA ROCK, who is unknown at 1200m, with his wins coming at shorter trips.

Race 4

 

6 BOLD GYPSY looks a very good each way chance in an even race. She has come up way over the odds, particularly of her last 2 efforts. Last start she raced wide and continued to box on when second two Of the Day here. The start before that, she was only 5L off last Saturday’s Metro winner and CARE TO THINK.  She will get a nice run in transit and will be hard to hold out.

6 MR DUMONT debuted with a nice second to Mishani Fernando at Doomben. Gets a nice draw here, and with the race experience, he should improve. The 1200m should allow him to settle better and be he looks the Bet of the day, there’s not a lot of depth in this.12 HEART OF AUSTRALIA will run a place. 10 BLACKBERRY will need a 10/10 from Josh Oliver from the wide gate but has the ability.

Race 6

 

Found it difficult to split 3 BETTABET RED & 7 CHLOES COMET.  7 CHLOES COMMET was a flashing light run last time when getting back in the field before working home well behind Abohar.  The slight concern is the SP $31 that day, so must not have shown a lot on the track, her southern form has her being ridden on speed and hard to beat. 3 BETTABET RED was an impressive winner here Ipswich Cup day, before 7.5L defeat in the Glasshouse Handicap.  The last start traveled into the race 3 wide with cover and was ok through the line. The blowout hope could be 6 NAPAYSHINI, who is second up here off a nice first up run has won 2 from 7 seconds up, has a nice trailing draw, can place.

Race 7

 

5 EXCEED BATTLE looks the likely leader here, and the one to beat. She went hard in front last time, before knocking up late behind the inform KHALAMA. 1 PRIME TARGET is the interesting runner here. First, up here after 525 days, now with Glenn Richardson. On his Sydney form, he just wins, but the horse is returning from injury and the market may be the best guide.  7 LOVE A ROSE should be first to the fence, and then take a trail behind the favorite. Get blinkers and tongue-tie the first time, so I’m expecting improvement.

3 SNOWFIELDS put up a cracking performance here the last start when ridden quietly before unleashing an impressive last 600m sprint. Ridden the same here, she is a big chance to roll the favorite. She has come up $10 in early markets, a great Each Way price. 1 FABVIER beat a mediocre Class 1 last time at the short quote and has come up very short here again. 2 SAYS ME is only little, but she tries hard and is consistent.
