Caulfield races called off because of wind

Due to strong winds Caulfield has been called off.

The Bletchingly Stakes meeting at Caulfield has been called off after four races because of safety concerns over strong winds.

Deputy chairman of stewards Robert Cram said the wind had been up to 70km/h with gusts of 90km/h and a majority of riders who were to compete in the fifth race voted not to continue.

A decision on whether some or all of the remaining races are rescheduled has yet to be made.
