RACE 1

BEST BACKED:

2 BRAVE SONG

  • The son of Your Song has been the best backed runner firming from $4 into current price $3.4. Your Song handled wet ground when he raced and this bloke has shown a liking for soft ground.

4 ADDICTIVE NATURE

  • He created a huge impression at the trials then again when winning on debut at Warwick Farm. He had no issues at all on soft ground when winning his trials. Pretty solid in betting around $2.4

RACE 2

Not much activity with the three at the top of the market remaining solid.

5 LA CHICA BELLA              $3.5    Likes to lead. Placed 2 from 2 on soft

4 LONG TIME AGO               $3.7    Races handy. A winner on soft ground

3 DIAPASON                         $4.8    Up from Melbourne. Placed 2 soft runs

RACE 3

BEST BACKED:

5 KING DARCI

  • The likely leader King Darci has been supporter turning up here off a three week freshen up. He has handled soft being placed two and placed two others from five attempts. Only heavy run when unplaced was over a year ago when still a maiden.

3 FRANCESCO

  • A winner of two from four runs on heavy ground has been supported firming a few points into $7 following the rain on Thursday night in Sydney. He is fourth up so he should be cherry ripe.

RACE 4

BEST BACKED:

3 SUPER STAR BOB

  • Prepared by Matthew Dale and along with Matthew Dunn have dominated the TAB Highway races. He was solid first up in a good race here at Randwick. He hasn’t been on wet ground but he is by noted wet track sire in Mossman. Been well supported into clear second pick.

2 CARE TO THINK

  • Turns up here off a strong win at Doomben last time out and this Highway doesn’t look any tougher. He has been placed three of his four runs on soft ground. From Highway’s number one stable in Matthew Dunn. Rock solid favourite.

RACE 5

BEST BACKED:

3 SAYED

  • Sayed in favourite and been the best backed in the early markets. After racing successfully in Melbourne Chris Waller floated him to Sydney he was too good in winning at Warwick Farm. He gets barrier one and has shown a liking for wet ground being a winner at his only start on heavy and twice successful on soft ground. Into $2.8 off the back of good money.

2 GET ON THE GRANGE & 4 VASSAL

  • These two have been specked at around the $9.5 mark into $7.50. Both is these gallopers have shown they can handle rain affected surfaces.

RACE 6

BEST BACKED:

8 ADMIRAL JELLO

  • It’s been one way traffic here in the early markets with Admiral Jello supported from around $7 into $4.5 and second favourite behind Invincible Knight. His first up run was solid after coming from well back to finish on the placegetters heels.

RACE 7

BEST BACKED:

1 LE ROMAIN

  • The class runner has been the one the punters have latched onto with Le Romain firming from $2.4 into $2.2. Never missed a hole first up, has been in the placings 15 of 18 runs and defeated the world’s best sprinter Chautauqua last preparation in the group one Canterbury stakes on heavy ground. There looks good speed which should enable the jockey to get a camp on them.

2 JUNGLE EDGE

  • Jungle Edge loves wet ground and he has a fitness over the favourite having raced through the Brisbane winter. He will bounce and run along and give them something to chase. Solid in betting firming from $7 into $6.

RACE 8

BEST BACKED:

3 TANGO RAIN

  • Very good backing for the Gerald Ryan 4yo Tango Rain who is first up for 11 months. He did trial twice back in January but went back to the paddock. He has had one trial this time in and looked very good winning at Rosehill. In his first campaign he showed he loved wet ground and the money has come hard suggesting he is ready to go. Approx $3.8 was bet now $2.9 and a clear favourite.

10 LAUNCH CODE

  • Even allowing for the fact Tango Rain has been well backed this fella Launch Code has been pretty solid in betting around the $3.2 quote.

RACE 9

BEST BACKED:

14 ARGENT D’OR

  • Argent D’or turns up here following a narrow but good win last start. He found the line hard and is already a winner on heavy ground giving him the tick on the wet surface. $8.5 was bet and now he sits second in the market at $6.5

10 SPENDING TO WIN

  • Beaten a lip last start by Argent D’or here two weeks ago but meets that galloper three kilos better off at the weights with James Innes Jnr replacing Hugh Bowman. He has been placed all five times on a soft track. He is favourite around the $5 mark and been very solid.
