‘No fear or favour’ in racing leak probe

Victoria’s racing integrity commissioner Sal Perna acted without fear or favour in a serious investigation into a cobalt leak that was no “frolic”, a court has been told.

Former Racing Victoria chairman David Moodie wants a judge to overturn Mr Perna’s “devastating” findings that he inappropriately disclosed information and misled the RV integrity council and board.

The Victorian Supreme Court has heard the commissioner went off on a “frolic” in his investigation, which Mr Perna’s barrister Melinda Richards SC on Tuesday described as a completely unwarranted characterisation of what took place.
