Champion Winx headlines nominations for this year’s Cox Plate at Moonee Valley where the mare will chase a record-equalling third win.

The $3 million weight for age race on October 28 has attracted 141 nominations, with 15 of those from overseas including invitees Highland Reel, Japanese horse Neorealism and last year’s Caulfield Cup runner-up Scottish.

Winx, who won a barrier trial in Sydney on Tuesday, is striving to join Kingston Town as the only three-time winners.
