Race 1
Small field engaged to battle out the Open class 2040m. Interesting tactical race, I’m expecting 4 BUDGET BENDER to take up the lead, with 3 MONTEUX either outside it or trailing it in second. 1 MR EPIC should get a trailing run behind them. I’m keen on 3 MONTEUX turning the tables on 1 MR EPIC this time around. Arguably should have won last time, and in a small field and being on speed he can win.

Really competitive Class 3 over 2040m with a host of chances. 7 TYCOON FLUTTER made good ground last time, after copying a check at the start and settling back, before really attacking the line late. Should be able to settle closer here and looks hard to beat 10 PINOLINO from the good gate this in form mare will be able to race on speed and give a good sight. She drops 1.5kg in weight and looks hardest to beat. 1 BINARY is very consistent without winning, can place here.

7 BEAUDACIOUS resumes here after chasing the very promising Our Bee Bee each of her 3 starts last preparation. There looks to be an enough speed on here to give this mare a chance to balance up the midfield, before unleashing her sprint to round these up. Her first up record reads 2 starts, for a win and 2 seconds and she looks a good Each Way play today.

5 HANWRITTEN the on top selection here, I think he will be just too slick for these over the 1050m around Doomben. From the good gate, I expect him to lead from 1 STELLA OMBRA who should settle in behind HANWRITTEN, and she can run second. 2 HARD STRIDE has a good first up record, he can sprint well fresh and be on the money.

11 MEET AND GREET only needs a touch of luck from the gate to be winning. He was really strong on the line winning holding out 10 KUBIS, and comes here third up fitter and can make it 2 wins on the trot in town. 7 BIANTIC should roll forward and offset the wide gate. He is working up to a win in this class, and with the right run can go close. 10 KUBIS is consistent but has been finding 1 better each time this prep.

12 OINK represents the BEST WIN BET today. His last start effort behind PRIORITISE was super, and the form around the late season 3YO from last month just keeps producing winners. He drops t o 54.5Kg here and looks a good thing.

The DISCLAIMER here is I own a share in 2 SAIPAN. He continues to work super, after his unlucky fourth last start. If he can settle 1 off the fence in the first six, he will be in the finish. He should have been right in the finish the last start, and a little luck early will see him on the money here. Hardest to beat is 11RHYME NOR RHYTHM but is too short for a 3-time provincial winner being first up 1200m. Has the ability to be in the finish, just a little short at the opening quote of around $4.50 to bet. 17 SILIQUA was an eye catcher the last start, can figure here with a bit of luck.

This is a super strong early 3YO race! A number of runners in with a chance, but have drawn wide, so I’m leaning to those with the better gates who map to get good runs. 9 WHYPEEO absolutely smashed his rivals at Ballina at his first start in a race. Obviously this is a step up in class, but hard not to be keen on his chances here from the good gate. 16 LETS PARTY MARTY has been impressive in 2 trial wins, and also drawn to get a good trip. 11 SO INVINCIBLE broke his maiden in good fashion last start, maps to get a nice run here.

She’s 4th emergency here and may not get a run, but 19 OF THE DAY looks a good chance in a very even field. Really hit the line last start, behind PRIORITISE & OINK. That’s the right form line for this type of race. One at big odd, 5 SORORITY SISTER was ok last time, gets a nice run in transit and is the blow out chance. 1 STAR OF KNIGHT has had 2 trials in preparation for this first up assignment, and has a very record first up the record (4 starts 2 wins 2 seconds). 4 MAGNUS COR was good behind Stellar Ombra last time, can get on the money here.
