CANTERBURY

WEDNESDAY 16 AUGUST

RAIL: True                 TRACK: Good 3 (Peno: 4.56)

CANTERBURY

Race 1             No.5    Songlike

From barrier one I expect the Bjorn Baker trained filly SONGLIKE will bounce to the front and lead the others home. She is third up so should be cherry ripe and ready to fire on all cylinders. Her effort against the highly touted Alizee last start when beating the others comfortably should be good enough to get away with this.

Race 3             No.5    Up ‘N’ Rolling

UP ‘N’ ROLLING was the centre of attention when a moral beaten here back in April when stewards gave the jockey the benefit of the doubt but I still don’t think the punters did. Anyway a new rider has been booked in Kerrin McEvoy and he turns up here first up over 1550m with two soft trials. There looks a distinct lack of speed which I am hoping with enable Up ‘N’ Rolling to utilise his sprint. If he gets clear room I think he can round them up. Obviously his main danger is Notio who ran second here last start behind Special Missile who has gone on to win in Saturday grade.
