CALCULATED faces his toughest test to date when clashing with a quality field in the Up and Coming Stakes. This colt has come back a lot stronger and muscular this preparation and after winning first up it took the high class Siege Of Quebec to fight him off last time. I liked the fact Waller sent him back to the trials and allowed him to hit the line and record a win. From an ideal gate and 53.5kg I think when McEvoy releases the brakes we might see a pretty smart colt.

OMEI SWORD signalled her arrival on the big stage this time last year when blowing away the field in the Silver Shadow Stakes and then running a luckless second to Astern in the Golden Rose. A short preparation of two runs in the autumn when she bled but she is now back. Barrier one looks to be her biggest issue but with a light weight if she sees clear galloping room she can do exactly what she did 12 months ago and blow them away. The Chris Waller stable have always had a huge opinion of this girl and starting tomorrow will be her first stepping stone to riches this spring carnival.
