Super Too in brilliant exhibition of speed

Super Too has continued a day of Randwick track records in winning the Primo Handicap at Randwick.

Under instructions from trainer Marc Conners, jockey Blake Shinn put the hammer down from the outset and Super Too built a big enough lead to hold off her rivals.

Super Too ($4.20) scored by 1-3/4 lengths from Last Witness ($20) while Gibraltar Girl ($7) was a head back in third.

Her time of 55.72 seconds eclipsed the 55.92 track record posted by De Lightning Ridge in 2010.

Dracarys and Deploy also established new Randwick standards in winning the Up And Coming Stakes and Show County Quality respectively.

“Blake and I had a really good talk during the week and we wanted to ride her for speed. That’s what she’s done today,” trainer Marc Conners said.

“First-up I think we went too slow,” Conner said of the mare’s unplaced return.

Hong Kong-bound Tommy Berry signed off on Last Witness, to finish his last meeting with a brace of seconds.

He also guided Gold Standard home behind Dracarys in the Group Three Up And Coming Stakes.
