The Golden Slipper winner Capitalist retires to Newgate Farm.

The Champion 2YO of 2015-16 Capitalist retires to Newgate Farm as the highest earning two-year-old ever of over $3.54 million in prizemoney and the first colt to win the Golden Slipper-Magic Millions-Breeders’ Plate treble.

In fact Capitalist is the first colt ever to win the Gr1 Golden Slipper Stakes 1200m and restricted listed Magic Million 2YO Classic 1200m, having previously won the restricted listed Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic 1100m and the pre-Christmas listed Breeders’ Plate of 1000m.

Also at two years Capitalist ran second in Gr2 Todman Stakes leading into the Golden Slipper, and as a three-year-old was third in Gr2 Roman Consul Stakes and fourth in Gr3 San Domenico Stakes.

A chestnut at 16.0hh, Capitalist is by last season’s Champion 2YO Sire in Written Tycoon, who also finished third on the 2015-16 Champion Sires listing, having been a Leading First Season Sire.

Capitalist is from the winning Fusaichi Pegasus mare Kitalpha, who is from the Group 3 winning mare Compulsion. A half-sister to the Caloundra Cup winner Brayroan, Kitalpha is also half-sister to the dam of Randwick Summer Cup winner Red Excitement.

Bold Promise, the Champion 2YO Filly of 1990-91, is Capitalist’s third dam producing the Golden Slipper winner Merlene, dam of Group 2 South African winner Merlene de Lago, and Newmarket Handicap winner Miss Pennymoney. The VRC Oaks winner Dear Demi descends from Bold Promise.

A chestnut standing 15.2½hh, Extreme Choice retires as a Group 1 winning two-old in taking out the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes 1200m, before winning the weight ‘age Gr1 AJ Moir Stakes 1000m at three

Extreme Choice, the winner of over $1.73m in stakes, was also successful in the Gr3 Chairman’s Stakes 1000m, restricted listed Inglis Nursery 1000m and third in the Gr1 Oakleigh Plate.

Rated the best 2yo colt from the Redoubt’s Choice sire-line, Extreme Choice’s sire Not A Single Doubt was Leading Australian Sire World Wide in 2015-16, Leading Sire of 3YOs in 2015-16 and second on the Australian Sires List in 2015-16.

From the Hussonet mare Extremely, Extreme Choice is a full-brother to the stakes placed multiple winner Raise No Doubt, from the Gr2 Woodbine Royal North Handicap winner Going To Extremes.

Flying Artie, the Leading 3YO Sprinting Colt on the 2016 World Top Rating, won the Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes 1200m in a slick 1-08.98sec, and the Gr3 Blue Sapphire Stakes at 1200m. In addition he was Australia’s Timeform highest rated 3YO Sprinter of 2016-17.

At two-years he won the Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude C&G 1100m, ran second in the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes, Gr3 Maribyrnong Plate and third in Gr1 Golden Slipper Stakes.

Flying Artie, a bay at 16.2hh, is the best produce of his Breeders’ Cup Mile winning sire Artie Schiller from the stakes winning Rubiton mare Flying Ruby. It is the immediate family of Australian Horse of The Year Better Loosen Up and stakes winner and stakes-placed producer All Imagination.

Winning Rupert retires to Newgate as the 1200m and 1300m Track Record Holder at Eagle Farm and shaving 0.1sec off Takeover Target’s Doomben 1200m track record when winning the listed Gold Edition Plate in 1-07.97sec.

At two years Winning Rupert won the Gr2 Champagne Stakes 1200m, having previously won over 1000m at the Gold Coast. In addition to the Gold Edition Plate at three Winning Rupert won the Gr3 Vo Rogue Plate 1300m and finished fourth in the restricted listed Magic Millions Guineas.

Winning Rupert, a chestnut at 15.3hh, is by Written Tycoon, the same a Capitalist, and is from the good performing Show a Heart mare Winaura, who’s multiple winning mare Miss Bonnie Can was sired by In The Slot.
