Nothing between a few here but I’ve settled on race fitness and hoping the blinkers can give the toppy 1 FAEGER the edge. I thought he showed enough to a couple of handy ones last time and although there is good speed engaged here I think he can roll forward and either find the front or at least sit outside the leader. 3 HONG QIGONG and 2 HIGH DIVE both have good race form and have trialled well leading in here first up.

2 CADENCIA has looked well above average at the trials for a while now and must be respected here on debut. A little tricky gate having drawn the outside and although she has the speed I imagine she’ll look to slot in for cover with 3 MARISHKA and even 7 KOSCIUSZKO EXPRESS likely to run along. 6 WILD ABOUT HER did enough on debut when making up ground to suggest she is pretty handy.

I know you can’t just flick a switch and a horse regains his form but I reckon 1 FOUR CARAT is showing enough of his former form to suggest back in this moderate grade he should be able to get the job done. He has had four runs back from a seven-month spell and I am banking on him being better than them. 2 ASHKANND, 3 NAPOLEON, 4 SERIOUS Hoffa and 7 RED DREAM are the other changes.

There looks a stack of speed here with the favourite 2 TAIKOMOCHI, 3 LEUCURA and the likely leader 4 ANOTHER SNAPPY. And that does not account for 6 DYLAN’S ROMANCE, 8 CAPTAIN MANERING and 9 TOKEN OF LOVE who all like to race handily. I am banking on 1 ESTIKHRAAJ doing nothing from gate one and then charging them. The fav Taikmocho has been impressive winning his past two and if he can relax at any stage he’ll be there at the end. Token Of Love is the value runner with no weight who just has to repeat her latest run when second here to Chatelard.

Tricky race with six genuine winning chances.
10 NOTIO came to Sydney back in late July and was super when second to Special Missile who has gone on to win five in a row before coming off a 21 day freshen up and running second again behind the promising Up ‘n’ Rolling. 2 FORTENSKY is the most consistent horse going around and will give a sight again while 8 FANTASIZE rocks up here following a six week freshen up and must be respected. 5 NO PUSHOVER, 6 TAHSIN and 11 MIDNIGHT DELIGHT who was good winning at Newcastle last start are the other winning chances.

11 MALAHAT returned from the Brisbane winter after competing in the group 2 Sires Produce when he wasn’t suited to the heavy track and turned in a cracking effort here behind Golden Shoes. From gate one and Hugh Bowman on board, I expect he will settle closer than the last start and if the breaks fall his way I think he’ll be too classy.

Race 7

There looks a lot of speed engaged here but I still expect 1 MISSILE CODA will bounce and run along and prove hard to get past. Blake Shinn grabbed the bit between his teeth last start and went to the front and never looked back as she raced away. A repeat of that run and I doubt the others will see which way she goes. 8 REGIMEN has won two from two and may well find the stalking position on the favourite here making her the main danger. The one to watch in the betting is the bottom one 15 HIGH LOW BET who showed very good ability winning on debut back in April and resumes here.
