2 NEVER SO SIRIUS has come back a much-improved horse this preparation, winning her first 2 starts in good fashion, before a good effort behind ANOTHER SIN and LIFESAVER in Sydney last start. Anticipating she can land in nice position third one off the fence, and get home over the top of these here.

4 MAKING SHADOWS has been closing up in both runs back from a spell, and has found the right race to brake through today. He gets the blinkers first time here and looks like a horse that will take a lot of benefit from the gear change.

2 GRACIDA from the virtue of the inside draw should lead these and is the one to beat. He couldn’t cross the fence last time but showed sustained speed over the 1000m to hold off a fast-finishing Navua Mist last start. Expect him to lead and be too fast here.

5 IRONBORN represents good value here. He was very good late in fast time first up, before going to a very strong class 2 at Doomben last start. He was forced 3 and 4 wide from the 600m, when chasing home above average horses in Capital Connection &Mishani Bullet in an that Doomben race. He steps up to s suitable trip here, and from the inside, he will get an economical run in transit. A touch of luck between the 600 and the 300m should see him be able to produce a run late and be hard to hold out.
