Good quinella here 3 SAMOVARE (gear change) and 7 SEA THE SPARKLE. Later gets 2.5kg here which is significant if you marry old form. 9 SPANISH REEF is flying and form undeniably. 5 NIMINYPIMINY is a perennial teaser. Will run top 4 (not win).

Terrific contest and no compelling push here. 7 SKY PUNCH has a gear change (winkers) and carries race fitness to the 1509m trip. 2 ESHTIRAAK looks ready for the trip (stable scratched stablemate). 8 SUNQUEST is also ready for the trip and under-rated. 4 MASCULINO is just that. Looks up to his name and watch the first galloper.

Race 3: 16-12-9-8
Hold fire here until you know if 16 BRAHMOS bets a run. If it does its top tip clearly, otherwise this is tough. 12 COSMIC LIGHTS runs well Valley without many wins. 9 EBEDIYIN will improve sharply with Weir’s caress. 8 RADICAL needs luck from draw but is just about ready.

Race 4: 5-7-3-2
Key is the one run back starters for mine and leaning 5 HANS HOLBEIN but not much in this as key target race. 7 HARLOW GOLD has built a non-winning record but resumed well, needs traffic joy. 3 FOUNDATION is a two run back starter – positive. 2 KILLARNEY KID continues to race well and one of these is due.

Never been a huge fan as a punter of 5 HEATHERLY but if going to try this is the race after luckless (inflicted) return here two weeks ago with most of these key rivals resuming. 7 HOUTZEN as the 3YO looks well placed and is brilliant. But the price is under for mine. 3 SUPIDO might find this short but freshmen helps. 2 HELLBENT will be big spring sprinting star. Not ignoring 1 RUSSIAN REVOLUTIONbut as they say – can’t put them all in.

Race 6: 1-3-6-8
1 SHOALS is better than these. This is not target race but is the black type (listed) and under race conditions should be ready enough to nail these. 3 LIMESTONE will bounce off sound return. 6 ROOMOOZ was excellent resuming. 8 SANADAAT resumed in good style.Will learn much here.

Race 7: 2-3-1-9
Didn’t need any help but the proposed withdrawal of 8 OAK DOOR only makes the task of 2 BRAVE SMASH easier – if it needed to be. Market price suggests the task as easy as it should be. 3 SANTA ANA LANE can chase to a place, 1 KEEN ARRAY is becoming unfriendly for punters but this race shapes ok for it. 9 RUETIGGER doesn’t win, won’t win this but has to be out into top 4.

Race 8: 4-5-2-1
Wow, what a punting challenge this is and the winner get the Willy Wonka ticket to Cox Plate. Really? So 4 STAR EXHIBIT was plain resuming but reckon this is a sharp form line lift for it. 5 HE’S OUR ROKKII is the well-found favourite, and perhaps rightly so, for me just not this price. 2 TAVAGO will chase well for sure. 10 LIZZIE L’AMOUR came here Tuesday, liked it. Well up to this on best.

Tough finish but going with Weiry – 4 RAW IMPULSE to improve sharply and respecting as ever 1 BIGDUKE. 3 STAMPEDE also first up here and never normally an issue without how they present. 6 PETROLOGY may help you as improve.But he is what he is. 8 ONPICALO runs well here, doesn’t win often enough.
