Frankie Dettori fears Ulysses in Arc

Frankie Dettori has pinpointed Ulysses and Winter as the biggest dangers to the favourite Enable in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly.

Bookmakers have Dettori’s mount odds-on for Sunday’s race on the back of her comprehensive victory over Ulysses in the King George at Ascot.

“I am really looking forward to the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, but of course I am feeling a bit nervous too,” Dettori said.

“Anything can happen in a big race and the worst thing about it now is that we still have a few days to go, so it’s a long wait!

“I expect it’s going to be a big field and there will be a lot of dangers in the race. She needs a good draw and Chantilly can be a bit tricky.

“The main danger for me is Ulysses. I am a big fan of him and he’s a horse on the up.

“Obviously if Winter turns up she will also be a threat, but there is a question mark about her stamina.

“I mean you have to be aware of everything, but they’re the two I’d be frightened of the most.”

Trainer Aidan O’Brien is yet to confirm if Winter will line up but has another six horses in contention including Order Of St George and Highland Reel.
