Wet to help Miss Exfactor at Doomben

A rain-affected Doomben track should help Miss Exfactor when she runs for the first time over 1350 metres.

The Tony Gollan-trained filly’s long-term goal is the $2 million Magic Millions Guineas over 1400m in January.

With that in mind, Miss Exfactor will be having her first run at further than 1200m in Saturday’s Three-Year-Old Handicap.

Doomben was rated heavy on Friday but is expected to be upgraded to the soft range for Saturday as long as the rain stays away.

“She really does have an aversion to hard tracks,” Gollan said.

“We had been having trouble getting her to jump cleanly.

“But she jumped a lot better on a softish track when she won at the Gold Coast last start

“I think you will see her jump even better this Saturday because the going will be soft at best.

“Miss Exfactor is by Group One winner Your Song out of a Quest For Fame mare so you would expect her to love the wet.”

Gollan said Miss Exfactor did not have to lead on Saturday and could take a sit.

“I think it would be ideal around Doomben at the 1350 to be handy without being involved in a speed battle.”

“It will certainly give us an idea where we sit for a Millions campaign.”
