Bookmakers have dual Group One winner Global Glamour as the early favourite to win the Myer Classic at Flemington.

The mare’s co-trainer Gai Waterhouse agrees.

Global Glamour, winner of the Flight Stakes-Thousand Guineas double last spring, resumed with a fighting win in the Group Two Tristarc Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield last Saturday week in her first start of the season.

The Tristarc is a traditional lead-up to Saturday’s Group One Myer Classic (1600m) for fillies and mares and Global Glamour heads the market at $6 ahead of acceptances on Wednesday.

“She’s a woman with a mission,” Waterhouse said.

“Just look out. Just put your money on her. That’s what I’d be doing.

“She’s the horse to beat in the Myer Classic.”

Waterhouse, who trains in partnership with Adrian Bott, also has Prompt Response in Myer Classic contention and believes the stablemates could run one-two.

Prompt Response will be having her fourth start of the spring, finishing a close third in the Group Three Ladies Day Vase (1600m) at Caulfield at her most recent start.

She was a Group Two winner during the Brisbane winter carnival and ran second in the Group One Tatt’s Tiara (1350m) at the end of her three-year-old season.

The mare worked sharply on the Flemington course proper on Tuesday.

“She worked super,” Waterhouse said.

“She’ll take a stack of beating and she’ll be good odds.”

The Chris Waller-trained Egg Tart is on the second line of early betting at $7 but could instead run in Saturday’s Group One Kennedy Mile under handicap conditions.

Her Group One-winning stablemate Foxplay will run in the Myer and is at $8 alongside Shoals, the only filly in the nominations, and Group One winner Silent Sedition.
