First meeting of the Sumer in QLD, and we kick off on a soft 7, with a chance of an upgrade if the sun continues to shine. I’m working on the track remaining in the soft range today.

Race 1
A very mundane 6 horse staying event to kick off proceedings here. Not a race I’m keen to bet into, leaning towards 4 THE RUMOUR FILE, who drops in weight here and looks a leading hope. 3 MAGNATUNE looks ready to produce a big run and can win also.

Race 2
1 IVE GOTTA NEL looks the likely leader, and can lead all the way. He handles all track conditions, and should be very hard to catch. 4 VICEMAN looks to trail the leader and is the danger.

SIZZLING PALTE for the 2YO and definitely a race I won’t be over betting. A lot of runners without a public a trial, so watch the market moves late. Of the ones we have seen, I liked the trial of 12 VERANES, and if having a bet, could entertain it EW.

Race 4
There looks to be good speed in the race, with a number of them looking to find the fence first. This will give 1 IN HIS STRIDE a chance to finally break back into the winner list. He was ok through the line, when the leaders where suited. 4 BOOMWA would be hard to beat on his Melbourne form, resumes here off a Darwin campaign. Happy to be on IN HIS STRIDE, its his D DAY for me as a punting proposition.

Race 5
1 DREAM KISSES will improve off her first up run, and loves the wet track. She was competitive in our better 2 YO races last season, and looks a good EW chance. The hardest to beat is 3 PRETTY FAST and has been supported into odds on.

Race 6
15 AQUA VITE is up in grade, but down in weight here, loves the wet and looks a leading hope. 7 PRIVATE HERO looks the horse that is heavily over the odds, will just need luck from the draw, but is ready to run a race here. I have 15 AQUA VITE on top, but Id be happy to play 7 PRIVATE HERO at the big price, for a small EW bet.

1 CAPITAL GAIN, keeps the blinkers on for his first up run, and I expect him to sprint well fresh. 2 BRING IT HOME POP should be on speed and giving a good kick and should run top 3. Early favorite 6 PIERATA resumes here without blinkers, and feel he will be better next time.

Race 8
5 CALANDA has been excellent in his 2 Melbourne runs this campaign, as long as the track allows horses to make ground, it looks the clear horse to beat. 2 MONSIEUR GUSTAVE has been in good form, and will race on speed and give a sight. 7 UPSTART PRIDE should be ridden aggressive and if can find the fence first could fill a place at odds.

Race 9
14 L’ELU strips fitter here from a pass mark first up effort. All her better for has been on rain affected going, and she gets all the conditions to suit here. She looks a safe EW play here. 19 BOILING beat her home last start, and I think it can run a place at huge odds here.
