Gollan shows confidence in White

Premier Brisbane trainer Tony Gollan has shown his increasing confidence in his apprentice Zoe White by giving her two key rides at the Gold Coast.

White joined Gollan about three months ago and has made steady progress to be now riding at Saturday metropolitan meetings.

She will have the rides on Plan Red (Class 3 Plate) and Hi I’m Back (Benchmark 90) for Gollan on Saturday.

Hi I’m Back has been racing in stakes company and was just behind the placegetters at his two most recent starts.

He ran fourth in the Listed Keith Noud Quality at Ipswich and fifth in the Group Three George Moore Stakes at Doomben.

Gollan thought a drop in class would help Hi I’m Back get back in the winners list.

“This is a nice race for him and I thought Zoe’s three kilo claim would help. She is riding with confidence and getting her horses to jump well,” Gollan said.

Plan Red could show how much White has matured as he can be hard to settle on occasions.

“He was ridden with cover at Ipswich and he won well. So that is obviously the plan again,” Gollan said.

White has also picked up the ride on the Les Ross-trained two-year-old filly Holdin’ My Own in the Aquis Ladies Day 2YO Handicap (900m).
