A maiden over the mile to kick off proceedings, with a number of these having a few tries at breaking the maiden. The lightly raced 3 INDIAN ROCKS has been good in 2 career stars, and the step to 1650m looks suitable and looks hard to beat. 1 ELIOT made good ground late at his first start, and can improve into the money here.

Tricky race with the unraced 6 ANOTHER DOLLAR an early favorite. She has had the 5 trials leading into this, her 2 this preparation in QLD have been ok. There is a concern she is in QLD because she’s not up to NSW level, so I’m not entertaining her at the short odds. 2 KARUMBA I could entertain on an EW basis. She SP’d a big price when resuming at 1200m last time, but she managed to finish within 5L of recent Saturday winner city winner BAT A KAT. With fitness improvement of that run, I can see her running a big race in this field.

6 THE SOCIALIST was good when first up last time. Although he was a beaten odds on favorite, I feel the 1200m will be right up his ally here and is the clear horse to beat for me. He gets the right run from the draw, and is a win bet. 1 PREFERITO is the interesting runner having his first go for Ben Currie. He should race on speed and I think he and 6 THE SOCIALIST fight it out

Looks a suitable race for 5 BOOMWAA, who can sit outside the leader and hardest to best. His run behind Just Orm in Saturday metro class was good last time, and a repeat of that sees him winning here.

Loads of speed here, the 2 hard in the market 7 BELLA OCCHI & 8 BESARA look the only winning hopes. They both should be able to settle just off a hot speed and be too strong late. I’m not keen to take the $1.50 Bella Occhi, so happy to play an EXACTA with the 2 favs, and have those 2 in QD’s etc.

1 KUBIS will bounce on the lead and give a great sight. He led and held off some decent horses in the form of BALBOA ROCK and CHAMALU last start, and a repeat performance will have him very hard to beat here. 14 BENFICA PRINCESS will get back along the rail from the draw, but with clear running is a big hope, along with 3 DUKE OF CHRISTOPHE.

7 SCALLOPINI is a nice 3yo gelding going through his grades, and another win here is a big possibility. From the good gate he can get the right run and win again. Its not an easy race though, with a number of winning hopes. 1 DEEP IMAGE who has good form behind some smart horses, but will have to over come an almost impossible gate here. 9 INSPIRED ESTELLE is a big winning hope, drops from listed level to this, and gets blinkers time. These 3 will fight out the finish.

12 FRANCISCA looks to be the one on the up, and should be winning here. She will settle back off the wide draw, but has a nice turn of acceleration that can she her round these up. She chased hard at Saturday level last start, and the step to 1350m here looks perfect.
