Ladbrokes Park Hillside Wednesday January 16

Hillside racing again (rail out 5m) and looks a Weiry sort of day, have tipped him to win the first 3 but he has conceivable chances in 4-5-7-8. A bit scary.

BEST BET: BELWAZI Race 7#1

BEST VALUE:  TRANQUIL MISS Race 6 #5

Race 1: 3-15-11-2

Respecting the first starter ZEBREEZ (120k Sebring Easter graduate) for Team Corstens – has shown ability in two Flemington jump outs. But will be putting BOSSY ROSE on top getting blinkers now from Weir after two runs that showed she will break maiden status sooner than later. SPLASHETTE also gets blinkers and hasn’t been able to break a maiden in 11 goes despite 6 placings, three of those 2nds from past four starts. Has to be included. Other hopes include BOBBY ROCKS who has been racing well.

SUGGESTED: A rare blinker change for Weir and like the value BOSSY ROSE.

Race 2: 9-7-12-6

Going Weir again here with HERMANITO (who has a tongue tie added). Races on pace and looks suited here at the 1600m. GRETZKY has been transferred to Melbourne and a visor replaces blinkers for first run here. Ran well Hawkesbury last time out and ready for this trip. MADAM STOWELL is fitter for two runs back and also suited at 1600m. BUCKHOUND did enough on debut at Echuca and straight to town and 1600m is a positive.

SUGGESTED: Like HERMANITO.

Race 3: 3-1-8-9

Again its Weir with CRAFTY DEVIL out to 2400m now (where is a winner) after the Valley 2040m worked against it last time. Expecting GOODWOOD ZODIAC to be hard to beat on pace again. Excuse for Pakenham failure on wet ground in-between two good staying runs. RAINDROPS ON ROSES got it all wrong last time, and was wide with no cover, should get more advantageous run here. Always respecting Waller’s stayers in Melbourne so HIS KYLLACHY goes in.

SUGGESTED: Think CRAFTY DEVIL better value than GOODWOOD ZODIAC.

Race 4: 2-5-1-6

Now Weir has two excellent hopes here in IMPERATOR AUGUSTUS who didn’t like the wet at Pakenham and RANSOM MONEY who broke through at the Valley but putting DOWNHEARTED on top. Oliver should be able to give it advantageous on pace run in transit from good gate. FAST PLAN had no luck last time at the Bool and represents a touch of value.

SUGGESTED: DOWNHEARTED to break hearts.

Race 5: 1-2-7-4

This would be a good race without NATURE STRIP – so unlucky his rivals are to find him lining up in a mid-week BM70. Gets away from the Valley but looks a Group horse at least in the making and should be winning again here. HOLY SEAL (Weir) is a good enough horse with good form profile  and won well fresh despite the stable suggested he’d be better for the run. So expect him fitter here for sure. Carries a higher BM rating (73) than the favourite and with 2kg claim can make a case to keep it at least honest. FRANKEL MY DEAR will probably find them too sharp at 1600m but looking forward to seeing his development as a more mature 3YO now. Stablemate VALENTE has the quick back-up here from Friday win.

SUGGESTED: NATURE STRIP to confirm his talent.

Race 6: 5-3-9-7

TRANQUIL MISS ran very well Caulfield after long break (normally not an issue for it) between runs off impressive Sale win. That race wasn’t run to suit it. ADATTO looked good breaking through Hillside last time and can certainly go on with it at the 1800m. EVOPEX is enjoying an excellent campaign and no fluke with well ridden win of MUTARAKEM last time but be taking others in a wide quaddie (see below).

SUGGESTED: TRANQUIL MISS some value in tough race.

Race 7: 1-10-8-5

You get a form horse BELWAZI (winner 4 of 6) and in-form 3kg claimer in Steph Thornton so there is a lot to like about it with its BM75 rating going in with “just” 60.5kg in a BM 64. Should be too good for these. Respected the Webb pair – then on-pacer DIVERTENTE and the fresh PLENTY TO LIKE. Putting SCOLARIO between them in tips, racing well and has the blinkers removed here. Oh – and Weir trained.

SUGGESTED: Loving the black figures BELWAZI.

Race 8: 4-11-16-2

Open last leg of the quaddie but reading that Freedman has been patient waiting the right race to resume CANNOT BE SERIOUS and goes 1300m on the big track. Good lead I think (and has winkers again) so seemingly primed fresh. SOHOOL butters up again. Racing well, just not winning but three runs in there should be no excuses now for the pick of Weir’s trio. AMERICAN GENIUS might be the best value, SOVERIGN DUKE is racing well this campaign.

SUGGESTED: Keen CANNOT BE SERIOUS, otherwise very tough race.

QUADDIE:
1 or 1-2

3-4-5-7-8-9-10

1

2-4-6-9-10-11-16-17

$56 for 100% of $56 for 50% taking two in first leg
