WIN            R7 N1 PIERATA

WIN            R9 N3 VIDDORA

Race 1

The Magic Million maiden to kick off a big day, and 10 DINNIGAN looks to give favorite punters a good start to the day, he should be able to race on speed and looks hardest to beat.  He led and ran a very good second behind boom colt PIERATA last start, and a repeat of that will see him winning here. 12 ZABEEL’S CHOICE looks to be a nice type, and ran a good race on debut. The experience will help and she is definitely a hope here at big odds.

Numbers: 10-12-4-11

Bet: The favorite is too short to bet, so happy to play a small 1×4 12 ZABEELS CHOICE

Race 2

The Country Cup for the provincial performers has bought together a wide rang of form lines and it’s a difficult race to dissect.   I’m leaning toward the DK Weir trained 5 HE’s A MORAL who should get a nice economical run, and with a good tempo on can be steaming home late.  1 ONE GOLDEN DAY has a big weight, but is honest and races handier to the speed and will race well.

Numbers: 5 – 1 – 6- 11

Race 3

My best Each Way of the day comes up here, in the form of 2 SIEGRIED.  He is ready to peak here 3rd up from a spell after 2 runs where he settled a little further back than usual. He will be right up on the speed, and a repeat of last preparations run behind RELIGIFY, will see him very very hard to beat on the home track.  3 HAVASY & 9 MISHANI EL LOBO will also race well and can be in the finish.

Numbers: 2 – 3 – 9 – 5

Race 4

Was a race in 2 with Payroll  but now with 4 SEDANZER who is working up to this trip, and looks ready to go now. She looks to have been set for this, peaks perfectly here and is the horse to beat. I’m expecting a big run from 7 FELTRE who was ridden against the normal; pattern last start, will settle mid field here and unleash a good finishing sprint, and is the blow out chance. 11 ALL TO HUIYING a 3 year old who can give a sight.

Numbers: 4 – 7 – 11- 10

Race 5

Difficult to tip against 1 GLOBAL GLAMOUR. She carried 58.5kg in winning the Group 2 Tristarc last preparation, and I can see her handling this weight, and these rivals in similar fashion.  She can spear across from the draw, which I think is suitable, and control the tempo and run away from her rivals.

Numbers: 1 – 8 – 13 – 16

Race 6

Terrible gates for 11 CARE TO THINK & 1 LUCKY HUSSLER and while with luck they can both definitely win, I think it opens the door for their rivals. 3 CRACK ME UP comes off a brutal Villiers mile and back to the 1400m which isn’t ideal, but he will get a good run and can be in the finish. 10 SNOOPY is the interesting one for me. He was a decent betting drift last start, and copped a strange ride effectively giving him no winning chance (In my humble opinion only).  He should get a good run in transit here, and is a blow out hope.  6 ARBEITSAM may not get his own in front with 8 OZI CHOICE annoying him, but if they don’t over do the speed both can run well here. Very tough to split them, so I’m happy to play 10 SNOOPY at the big odds.

Numbers: 10- 11 – 1 – 3

Race 7

He is the good of the day for me 1 PIERATA. He won in super fashion last start, has clearly enjoyed the QLD sun, and with an economical trip from the inside gate, he will only need a touch of room to extricate himself into the clear and put them away.

Numbers: 1 – 15 – 6 – 7

Race 8

The big race of the day with the Magic Millions 2 year old, and 3 horses dominate the market. 1 JONKER 2 EF TROOP & 11 SUNLIGHT have all been super this preparation, and while I’ve been looking for a “fly in the ointment” type horse to beat them, I can’t find one.  1 JONKER up from NSW and gets H BOWMAN for the first time, has been impressive in 2 wins from 2 starts. He has the draw to take the sit on the leaders if required and has a turn of foot to be in the finish, I think he is the lessor of the 3 main hopes. 2 EF TROOP will need to be revved up from the gate, and I think that could be the thing that brings him undone at the end of a fast 1200m run. He’s a super impressive animal, has ran time and rates higher than HOUTZEN at the same time last year according to some analysts. My small concern is he has done it against small fields and the early pressure will be hotter here than what he had to encounter previously, and I think he runs second here. 11 SUNLIGHT looks a very professional filly, she can put herself in the race early and is able to relax on a good tempo if required. She was as impressive as she could have been last week, and the 1200m looks like it will pose no issue. She’s the one I want to be on at the end of a fast run 1200m.

Numbers: 11- 2 – 1 – 13

Race 9

3 VIDDORA raced extremely well in 2 Melbourne group 1 sprints, before heading to WA and winning the Group 1 WINTERBOTTOM at ASCOT. Her runs behind SHE WILL REIGN & HEY DOC at Moonee Valley, aren’t the type of runs any of her rivals here could produce. She would have a done a few miles in getting here, but she is the clear class runner and if she brings her best, she looks the winner.

Numbers: 3 – 9 – 11 – 14
