Young syndication company 2KThoroughbreds made a hugely successful splash in the Magic Millions pool last week and have now leapt into a unique and exciting partnership with the innovative charity Pinchapoo.
The 2KThoroughbreds team spent $745,000 on five yearlings on the Gold Coast and quickly aligned themselves with Pinchapoo to gift them two percent of prizemoney won by any of their shares in the horses.
“We are delighted to get involved with Pinchapoo, it is such an original concept of giving to those who need it most with items we take for granted,” 2KT managing director Sterling Cincotta said.
“I grew up in Potts Point in Sydney and there is very large homeless population there that literally blend in to the sidewalk, it is really quite devastating to think that we have still have this level of homelessness in our society,” Cincotta said.
Pinchapoo, which already has a strong base across the racing industry with partnerships alongside the likes of Aquis Farm and through the fundraising event Walk For Phil, encourages donations of “pinched” hotel toiletries and hygiene products.
It works with over 90 organisations to distribute them to the homeless, domestic abuse victims, refugees, community shower programs, natural disaster crisis relief, hospitals, jails and a huge range of other groups including a rapidly expanding schools program.
“I have always tried to do my bit with supporting causes that can assist people in need however when (2KT sales and racing manager) Scott Jenner made the introduction to (Pinchapoo ambassador) Bruce Clark, the idea of supporting Pinchapoo was a no brainer.
“We go into every horse we offer and the pledge of 2% prize money earned from the five yearlings purchased at this year’s Magic Millions auctions will come from our ownership.
2KT has quickly emerged into the competitive racing syndication market with now 11 quality horses on their books in just under a year. Their Magic Millions squad is primarily trained by Richard Freedman, with Toowoomba’s Michael Nolan also on the team.
“It has been a great period for 2KT, we have had a great response to the yearlings purchased and we have been very well supported by some of the heavyweights in the game like Gerry Harvey and his Baramul Stud.”
Pinchapoo founder and CEO Kate Austin is flattered and excited about the partnership with 2KT Thoroughbreds and the offer of sharing in any prizemoney.
“We have made some wonderful friends in the racing industry who absolutely genuinely believe in what we do and how they can engage in making a difference, so to have 2KT aligned with us is such an incredible offer,” Austin sad.
“Our message is quite simple, there are one in six Australians who each week currently don’t have access to hygiene products. Any support like this can help us reach out and assist those people across the community.”

Lot 14: Wandjina colt ex Lady Colours, the family of a Magic Millions winner in Dancer’s Joy. Offered by Newgate Farm and purchased for $155,000 heading to Richard Freedman.
Lot 385: More The Ready filly ex The Hamptons, a great grand-daughter of Lady Jakeo, which gives you Hong Kong champion Able Choice but this is a magnificent female pedigree that includes Group 1 Oakleigh Plate winner Mrs Onassis and multiple black-type winner Miss Judgement, the mother of Group 1 runner-up Missrock. She made $125,000 and offered by Gerry Harvey’s Baramul Stud and Harvey will stay in this filly. Another for Richard Freedman.
Lot 423: Zoustar colt (the sire of Magic Millions winner Sunlight) out of the four time Danehill winning mare Villa Bled and what a family this is, the second dam being Perth Cup winner Palatious, who produced eight foals, all of them winners including Blue Diamond winner Danelagh, in turn the dam of Hong Kong champion Vengeance Of Rain and AJC Oaks winner Dizelle, the mother of VRC Oaks winner Pinot. Again from Harvey’s Baramul, again he’ll stay involved and regarded as a steal at $150,000. Freedman to train.
Lot 674: Redoute’s Choice colt from the Savabeel mare Dowager Queen, herself a quality black type performer that gives this colt a mix of speed and staying potential. He made $250,000 at Magic Millions and will head to Richard Freedman.
Lot 1005: Better Than Ready filly from the Lohnro mare Naima. She is by a first season sire who was a quality sprinter by More Than Ready. The half-sister to this filly recently won an jumpout in Brisbane by six lengths and she will stay in Queensland to be trained by Michael Nolan in Toowoomba. She made $65,000 at the sales.
