Race 5             Number 6       So You Swing

Race 8             Number 6       Sixties Groove

Race 1

SHALWA will enjoy the lesser weight and the inform Michael walker in the saddle. The good barrier will make sure she enjoys a soft run.  Naantali finished second to Miss Pandanus who has been scratched but was the main danger and would have met her two kilos better off. You can put a line through Absolute Heaven’s latest run when getting into trouble early. She can bounce back and settle handy from a good barrier. Magnesium Rose talented filly who toughed it out at Caulfield last week.

6 – 3 – 8 – 1

Race 2

With Single Note and Miles Of Krishan rolling along the speed should fair allowing SO SPLENDID her chance to run over them. This mare has had two back in Sydney and been solid as a rock and as she showed last preparation here she can race handy if required. Miles Of Krishan from a good draw will give a big sight while Spanner Head is again coming off a three week break something she reacts to. Ma Jones looks the value as I think if she can reproduce her run here two starts back that will have her around the spoils.

7 – 1 – 5 – 3

Race 3

I concede the favourite Crocodile Rock is the one to beat having solid form around good horses including Melbourne Cup winner Almandin and it’s not the fact he is first up for 44 weeks it’s just at such a short price and being 2500m first up I found it hard to dive in. I have settled on the rock hard fit galloper FALAGO who gives his all and I am sure will be in this for a long way. The other hope is of course Thunder Cloud coming off a few strong efforts including a last start win.

2 – 4 – 8 – 10

Race 4

It’s a wide open betting race with the withdrawal of the favourite Eduardo leaving me with EL RADA who I am forgiving for her latest effort when never went a yard and going on her previous win at Ballarat and prior to that a good third at Caulfield a few months back. Pleasant is only lightly raced with six starts even though he’s about to turn six-years of age and still has plenty of upside. He has a nice weight and looks to map very good. Artie Dee Two returns from Adelaide where the race wasn’t run to suit while Mystified is a South Australian visitor with very good form that looks to have him in the mix.

19 – 22 – 5 – 7

Race 5

Only a relatively small field and it looks as though the Waterhouse/Bott runner Fun Fact will dominant from the front and is sure to give a sight. I am pretty keen though on the Ellerton/Zahra trained filly by So You Think, SO YOU SWING who has only raced twice and been very good both times. She was a winner on debut before finding the line strongly over 1400m at Sandown so the 1800m trip looks right up her alley. Lift didn’t have support on debut when running second at Ballarat but with a few of these expected to struggle at the journey this bloke won’t be one of those. Visao should camp on the leader’s backside and get every chance.

6 – 3 – 2 – 1

Race 6

The Sydney visitor from the Snowden yard BRAVE SONG looks a handy one resuming off a four month spell having trialled twice and looked in good order. The Snowden’s know what horses are suited to travel and this gelding is likely to get back and look to run over our 3yos. Order Of Command draws soft and raced at his pet trip of 1100m where his both career wins have come at. Ducimus has been freshened up, Kennedy can bounce off his first up run where luck never fell his way in the straight and Double Jeopardy has been very good of late behind the highly touted Nature Strip.

1 – 4 – 2 – 6

Race 7

MR MONEY BAGS only has to have maintained his form and he will be right in the thick of the action. He is a winner twice here and loves firm tracks and you’d imagine he will settle just tucked in behind the speed. Streets Of Avalon is a player on his current form but the one win from 18 starts must be a concern. The favourite Night Falls is a chance but I think he is far better with the sting out of the track and Al Passem is capable of giving cheek if he can settle on-pace without doing too much early.

2 – 5 – 3 – 4

Race 8

SIXTIES GROOVE finally got to 200m and wow he was ultra impressive in winning with ease here two weeks ago. He goes up a couple of kilos but a repeat of that effort and he will take some holding out. Pacodali was able to beat Sixties Groove last start for him at Caulfield three weeks ago and although drawn poorly here he does meet him a kilo better off so he deserves plenty of respect. Former Perth galloper Trap For Fools comes through the same race and I am sure will relish the big track here at Flemington so he could easily upset the apple cart without surprising. If you are looking for runners capable of sneaking into the numbers at juicy odds perhaps Jaameh and the Chris Waller trio are the ones.

6 – 1 – 3 – 2

Race 9

INVINCIBLE AL returns from Adelaide after a winning hit and run mission four weeks ago over the flying 1000m when showing a brilliant turn of speed. He maps well here and with the claim for Nathan Punch expect another bold showing. Rocket Tommy was very good winning fresh before a fair effort here but he has been freshened up with a four week layoff so a bounce back run is on the cards. Nordic Empire has natural speed and with no weight can give a big sight.

4 – 2 – 8 – 5
