Pariah expands Arrowfield Kingdom

Star juvenile and three-year-old sprinter Pariah joins Arrowfield Stud, with a Snitzel, Not A Single Doubt, Beneteau and Stratum stallion-to-succeed profile. ‘All sired by Redoubt’s Choice, all brilliant 2YOs & all outstanding sires, with Pariah is in the same mould.’

As with Not A Single Doubt, Pariah won the Gr3 Canonbury Stakes 1100m at Rosehill, but this time on debut and in a race record time of 1-04.63sec. Like Beneteau he was second in Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes 1200m the first colt home, but was second at his previous start in Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude (C&G) over 1100m.

Timeform rated Pariah the second top Two-year-old of 2016-17 on 118, with Invader and She Will Reign both allocated 119, and ahead of Group 1 winners Summer Passage, Catchy, The Mission and Trapeze Artist.

As an early three-year-old Pariah was too-good in winning the Gr3 San Domenico Stakes of 1100m, now considered a career building race for future Group 1 winners. Pariah went onto to finish second to Menari, and defeating Perast, in the Gr2 Run To The Rose of 1200m at Rosehill that season.

A bay standing 16.0hh, Pariah was $700,000 yearling purchase by James Herron Bloodstock at the 2016 Australian Easter Yearling Sale, being bred and consigned by Arrowfield Stud.

Bred on the successful Redoubt’s Choice and Hussonet cross, Pariah is a three-quarter brother to duel Group 1 winner producer Melito, by Redoubt’s Choice, the now termed the ‘king sire-of sires.’ Redoubt’s Choice has now sired the winners of $143m in stakes including 32 Group 1 and 157 stakes winners, with a high 74% winners ration.

Pariah is the family of leading sire Zeditave, through his Group 3 winning half-sister Pampas Fire, Pariah’s third dam, and her immediate family of Cloisters, Shikoba, Furnaces and You’re So Good.

Maurice, the 2015 Japanese Horse of The Year, and Milli Isle, the Japanese Champion Sprinter Miler, have their first Australian foals on the ground this year.
