Mark Zahra has made the most of another jockey’s misfortune to land the Group One VRC Sprint Classic at Flemington.

Zahra replaced suspended rider Ben Melham on Santa Ana Lane and he timed his run to perfection to bring the sprinter through the middle of the field.

In winning at Group One level for the fourth time, Santa Ana Lane ($10) defeated In Her Time with Jungle Cat and Pierata dead-heating for third.
