Fradd a fan of smart winner Don’t Waiver

Jockey Robbie Fradd has been quick to confirm Don’t Waiver’s win at Eagle Farm as even better than it looked.

Don’t Waiver ($5.50) got up on the inside and looked certain to score a comfortable win in the Worldwide Printing Handicap (1600m).

However, in the final 100m he had a battle on his hands before holding off Dawson Delight ($6) by a long head.

Fradd said Don’t Waiver had been travelling strongly when he spotted the winning post.

“He wanted to shy away from it and I think he should have won by more. He is a nice horse in the making,” Fradd said.

Trainer Stuart Kendrick said Don’t Waiver had always shown ability and he believed with maturity he would be a top horse.

“He won first up at 1000m which didn’t suit him but when he got beaten at his next start at the Sunshine Coast I was a bit surprised,” he said.

Kendrick also saddled the favourite Star of Michelin ($1.85) who struggled into fourth place after looming up at the top of the straight.

“He raced flat today and it looks like it is time for a spell,” Kendrick said.
