Fields of 11 for George Main and Shorts

Happy Clapper heads a field of 11 for the Group One George Main Stakes at Randwick.

The Pat Webster-trained triple Group One winner has drawn barrier four with race favourite Avilius to jump from eight.

Glen Boss will ride Happy Clapper, replacing Hugh Bowman who is recovering from a broken finger.

Samadoubt, who beat Happy Clapper to win the Winx Stakes last month will start from barrier 10 while Dreamforce has the inside gate.

Saturday’s meeting begins the Everest carnival with several leading contenders for next month’s $14 million sprint to run in the Group Two Shorts which also attracted a field of 11.

Redzel, who has won both runnings of The Everest has barrier one, while star mare Sunlight has gate 11 but is an unlikely starter if the track remains in the heavy range.
