 RANDWICK

Race 2             No.3    In Times Of War                   C Waller         T Clark

Talk about consistent this filly has raced seven times recording two wins and five second placings. Two starts ago over tomorrows journey of 1100m she was run down in the final few strides by Bonny O’reilly. Last start she won by a pimple but the effort was super after covering ground throughout. In a race that looks to have good speed engaged and coming back to 1100m she looks hard to toss. Heavy ground is a slight query but she has raced four times on soft ground and never looked at all uncomfortable.

Race 6             No.3    Dagny                         C Waller         T Clark

Was Dagny disappointing last Saturday when beaten as a short priced favourite or if she wasn’t what the excuses were?

Punting is all about opinions and although I think she was a shade disappointing I think she was juts ridden too aggressive as she was chasing a hot speed from the get go. The start before Tommy berry had her in behind but she travelled last week to my eye she was always chasing.

There looks a genuine tempo tomorrow with Yuma Desert, Il Mio Destino, All In The Reflexs and Tennessee Hussy so there will be no need to chase her along and hopefully she will have the zip to run over them. The wet track shouldn’t pose any problems and I am confident she will bounce back.

Currently $4.6 www.bluebet.com.au

 FLEMINGTON

Race 1             No.2    Lone Eagle                 M Price           D Oliver

This son of Zoffany has only raced once and although he looked a bit new I was impressed with his effort as he kept finding the line. They zipped home the last 600m in 33.38 and he was closing until his run probably ended at the 60m mark. He got a little lost on the bend but the part I liked was the big space from second to third and third to fourth. The opposition here doesn’t look overly strong and I think with that debut run under her belt I am confident he will run over them even allowing for the race being a 100m shorter.

Currently $2.25 www.bluebet.com.au

 DOOMBEN

Race 3             No.6    Moher                         D Beadman                T Angland

I am a straight out punter but gee for the each way punters I think the current $4.8 win and $1.8 place for Moher tomorrow is a super bet as I think he is racing in terrific form and gets the perfect run.

Moher ran second in the Hawkesbury Cup three runs back before a super on-pace fourth in the Scone Cup before running along last start albeit on a soft track and getting run down. The son of Lonhro handles a little sting out of the track but I think a good track enables him to keep on rolling without getting bogged down. He turns up here from gate one and although he has won most of his races from in front he will likely be in behind the leaders with Col ‘N’ Lil, Coolring and Religify all keen front runners. The mile is a perfect trip, he’s rock hard fit, drawn perfect, the track is dry and I love backing Tye Angland so I’m diving in.

Currently $4.8 www.bluebet.com.au

EARLY THOUGHT FOR GROUP 1 STRADBROKE HANDICAP 1350m

I think the Chris Waller pair Counterattack from barrier 2 and Mackintosh the inside gate should get perfect runs and both represent good value to me at $8.

Both their riders will have to be on guard because if they start swooping from the 600m sometimes those back near the inside can get bottled up. I am hoping Jungle Edge will run the field along meaning the opportunity to make a move if the swooping starts are there for both Opie Bosson and Kerrin McEvoy respectively.

Good luck
